Omar Abdullah Marries Nidhi Razdan in Delhi
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has married senior television journalist Nidhi Razdan in a private ceremony in New Delhi, marking a new chapter in the personal lives of two prominent public figures.
The 56-year-old political leader confirmed the development on Saturday through a social media post, announcing that a new journey had begun the previous day. He tagged Razdan and shared four photographs of the couple.
According to reports, the marriage was solemnised on Friday under the Special Marriage Act, with close family members from both sides serving as witnesses. The couple chose to keep the occasion intimate.
The wedding celebrations reportedly took place in New Delhi and Srinagar, bringing together immediate family members and close relatives. The ceremonies reflected a private family celebration rather than a large public gathering.
Among those attending were Abdullah's parents, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and Mollie Abdullah, along with his three sisters and other relatives. Razdan's parents, veteran journalist M. K. Razdan and Sarla Razdan, were also present.
The marriage follows the dissolution of Abdullah's earlier marriage to Payal Abdullah through a Supreme Court order in July 2026, following a settlement between the two. For 49-year-old Nidhi Razdan, this is also her second marriage.
The announcement has attracted public attention because of Abdullah's political prominence and Razdan's established journalism career. Their wedding brings together two widely recognised personalities from Indian politics and the media, while underscoring a significant personal milestone for both.
