Nvidia CEO Allegedly Targeted by Chinese Spy
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reportedly became the target of Chinese intelligence operations, raising fresh concerns about espionage surrounding America's artificial intelligence and semiconductor industries.
According to a New York Times investigation, the US intelligence agencies identified Chinese businesswoman Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le, as an alleged intelligence asset sharing sensitive information with Beijing.
The woman, reportedly associated with a Singapore-based data centre company, was initially investigated over suspicions involving the diversion of advanced Nvidia AI chips to China.
Investigators subsequently discovered her close relationship with Jensen Huang, triggering national security concerns about potential Chinese access to strategically important information.
The report claims US President Donald Trump was briefed about the intelligence findings approximately a year earlier but chose not to intervene.
The controversy highlights Washington's delicate balancing act between protecting critical technologies and maintaining Nvidia's commercially significant relationship with China's semiconductor market.
The larger concern extends beyond corporate espionage.
As AI chips become strategic national assets, intelligence infiltration, trusted relationships and supply-chain vulnerabilities could threaten technological leadership, making executive security and counter-intelligence increasingly critical.
