Siemens AG has chosen a Verizon solution to authenticate users of Siemens' communications systems, and thereby increase the security of its internal and external communications and Web application delivery. Siemens' in-house PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) solution and user identity certificates are now fully authorized by Verizon's OmniRoot certificate chaining services, which are relied on by nearly all internet and phone browsers as well as email clients and applications.
The Verizon 2011 Data Breach Investigations Report demonstrates that ineffective, weak or stolen credentials continue to impact enterprise security. Verizon Business through its Terremark subsidiary offers managed security services; governance, risk and compliance solutions; data loss and prevention solutions; and identity management solutions, all delivered by the company's more than 1,200 security professionals around the globe.
