Samsung holds Bada Developer Day Global Tour
Samsung has held its 'bada developer day' for the local developers in Bangalore, India. This event was held to directly introduce Samsung's own platform bada 2.0, globally launched last month and vitalize the development of applications. About 250 developers and partners participated in the conference to demonstrate and experience the features of bada 2.0. Starting from India, Samsung Electronics has planned to open its bada developer global tour in over 18 countries including China and Russia, which are the target markets of bada platform.
"As we continue to hold this bada developer day throughout the world right after the successful launch of bada 2.0, we accelerate to secure support from outstanding developers and expand the bada developer community. We believe that all of these programs will result in the enhanced competitive power of bada as a world leading platform. Samsung will spare no endeavor to provide incessant and aggressive services to support app developers," said Kang-hyun Kwon, Sr. VP, Media Solution Center, Samsung Electronics.
bada 2.0 includes multi-tasking, Wi-Fi Direct, Near Field Communication (NFC) and voice recognition. It enables smartphone users to experience advanced services such as mobile payment, transport pass-card recharge and file sharing without Internet networking. In addition, it supports HTML5 and improved Flash functions thus offering enhanced usability and web experience. By supporting standard WAC 2.0, bada aims to greatly expand its developer community.
"bada is a significant innovation and a key component in Samsung's multi-platform strategy; we are committed to investing in its success. We are expanding our developer community and creating a strong ecosystem that benefits both developers and end-users. Developers have an opportunity to reach a significant customer base with new, entertaining and compelling applications while consumers will receive an outstanding smartphone experience," said Dipesh Shah, VP, Samsung India Software Operations Unit, Bangalore.
