Innovation Lab coming up in Bangalore
RV-VLSI, a research and training centre in VLSI and embedded systems, and San Jose-based Altera Corporation have entered into partnership to set up an Innovation Lab in Bangalore. The lab, to be set up with an investment of Rs.45 crore, will promote the use of advanced design practices among corporate, academic research institutions and students to develop low-cost India-centric products for healthcare, communications, defence, infrastructure and green energy sectors.
Altera Corporation works in the area of programmable logic solutions, enabling system and semiconductor companies to innovate and differentiate themselves in their markets. The company will provide the software and hardware pertaining to their key products to the Innovation Lab.
The lab also plans to work closely with universities in India to upgrade the skills of faculty in the areas of VLSI design methodologies and embedded system design.
