The Department of Telecom (DoT) will be meeting security agencies next week to discuss the issue of allocation of identifiable tele-marketing numbers. The word on the meeting came after the domestic security agency Intelligence Bureau (IB) raised concerns over the allotment of dedicated number series. Earlier, the telecom regulator had recommended allocation of a series of numbers starting from the digits "70" for tele-marketers, who subsequently demanded that the starting digits be changed to "140".
"We are meeting security agencies next week to discuss this issue," said DoT Secretary R. Chandrashekhar.
